The other day we went to a Book and DVD swap meet at the G20 supermarket in Olonzac (Aude). We cleared out a cupboard of about 50 or so DVD's that we had not watched for years (some we'd never watched), put them in a big box and loaded them into the car. After a bit of a detour we made it to the supermarket. Like reverse shoplifters our box of DVD's set off the alarm when we walked through the door.The swap meet is very informal. You give your books/DVD's to one of the helpers and they put them on a
long trestle table for others to peruse and you then dive in and find something for yourself. If you have brought nothing along with you, it does not matter. You can still pick up some books and DVD's so long has you add a few coins to the British Legion charity box in return for your new finds.A plus side to this swap meet is the fact that the supermarket also carries a good stock of British food items, so not only can you go away with something to read/watch, you can also pick up a few items that you miss from the U.K.
The next book/DVD swap is on Tuesday 7th July 2009, from 10 am until 12 noon.
