Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, has declared Afghanistan's presidential and provincial elections a success.
But hours after polls opened Thursday morning, members of an opposition campaign found they were able to remove the supposedly indelible ink that election workers put on the fingertips of people who have cast their ballot.
