In Japan's elections, a group of young female candidates dubbed the "Princess Corps" has thrown down the gauntlet to elderly ruling party bosses, spearheading an opposition charge to take power. The opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) has deployed the so-called female assassins in key districts for the August 30 poll.
