As Europe prepares to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II, Lithuania is coming to terms with its past, including the extermination of its Jewish community. Only a few kilometres from the capital, hidden amongst the pine trees, a memorial marks the site where tens of thousands of Jews were gunned down over a three-year period.
