Honore Lavigne ~ Bourgogne Passetoutgrains ~ Cuvee Speciale

A very drinkable wine from the Boisset stable. Given that this wine is from such a massive company, it is surprisingly good. My general rule is to avoid wines from corporations but I may have learnt my lesson with this wine. It is light and crisp, with soft summer red fruits (woodland strawberry and red currents) melting onto the palate in the middle with a slight tannin finish to round it off. This wine is a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, so best drunk young when it is at its best. An all round good warm weather wine and at a mere 5€ a bottle, excellent value for money. Winner of Prix des Vinalies at 2007 Œnologues de France contest.
